Our Strategic Planning Consultancy

As part of our suit of products, we offer consultancy in the area of strategic planning.

Using a strategic planning model that we have developed, after reviewing other models that are in use, we have developed the current strategic plans for Fiji National Provident Fund, Amalgamated Telecom Holdings, among others.

We have also assisted with developing annual corporate plans for some government agencies/departments. As part of this, we ensure that there is a link between the company's/organisation's strategic plan and its annual strategies and that those responsible for implementing strategies are clearly identified with time frames put in place.

During the current constrained business and economic environment, it might do well for companies to have another review of where they wish to position themselves over the next two to three years and then review/identify new strategies to take them there.

Organisational objectives that might have been relevant in the past two years might need to be reviewed as companies/organisations relook at themselves given the current global/domestic conditions.

If you are a company or organisation that needs assistance in this regard, and need more information on how we can help you, you can call our office on (679) 3342719 or email us on info@gilbert.com.fj.

What's we've been up to? Corporate Planning Consultancies!

I apologise for not having this blog updated for a while. We have been busy conducting Corporate Planning consultancies for two Government Departments were also in discussion and have secured informal agreements with two local companies, Datec Fiji and Vt-Solutions, to collaborate on consultancies in the area of business continuity planning (BCP).

We have developed our own Strategic Planning and Business Continuity Planning models in-house from our various experiences and value-add by using professionals from outside our business to assist with our consultancies.

In addition to this, I have also been busy with my trustee duties for Unit Trust of Fiji. For our unitholders, we had declared some dividends that were paid out over the last two weeks.

If you require any assistance with Strategic or Corporate Planning and Business Continuity Planning for your businesses, please email us on info@gilbert.com.fj for our proposal and fee quote or call us on (679) 3342719 or (679) 9921427.

Expansion of our services

We have been busy over the last two months completing Strategic Plans for the Fiji National Provident Fund and Amalgamated Telecom Holdings Limited.

Fiji National Provident Fund is the largest player in Fiji's financial system and has total asset of over F$3 billion, making up around 38% of total financial system assets.

Amalgamated Telecom Holdings Limited is the holding company for Telecom Fiji Limited and owns a part of Vodafone Fiji Limited. It has management rights over FINTEL.

Over February 2008, we were working on preparing a capacity development plan for a UNAIDS project in the South Pacific. The work included preparing for and facilitating a regional workshop held at Denarau, Fiji. That work has also been completed with the Report submitted to UNAIDS.

Currently, we are developing a Contingency Planning or Business Resumption Planning Model. Similar to our Strategic Planning Model, we will use our Contingency Planning Model to develop Contingency Planning/Business Resumption Plans for clients.

For more information on our services, pls e-mail info@gilbert.com.fj or call telephones (679) 3396427 or (679) 9921427.

Another new client : Amalgamated Telecom Holdings

We have just begun work with a new client, Amalgamated Telecom Holdings Limited (ATH). ATH has 100% ownership of other telecommunications companies in Fiji including Telecom Fiji Limited and ATH Technology Park Limited. ATH also owns 90% of Fiji Directories Limited.

Telecom Fiji, on the other hand, has 100% shares with Internet Services Fiji, Transtel Limited and Xceed Pasifika Limited. Telecom Fiji also owns 51% shares with Vodafone Fiji Limited.

For ATH, we are facilitating workshops for management and the Board and will help put together a new Strategic Plan for financial years ending March 2009, 2010 and 2011.

We are again using a Strategic Planning model that we have developed ourselves. Mr Nacanieli Rika, lecturer in Accounting and Finance, University of the South Pacific, will again be assisting us with this project.

Fiji National Provident Fund : our new client

We have just secured Fiji's largest financial institution, the Fiji National Provident Fund (FNPF), as a new client. FNPF controls around 40% of total financial system assets in Fiji and is currently the only superannuation provider in Fiji.

For FNPF, we are facilitating workshops for staff and managers and later the executive management and the Board of Directors to develop a new Strategic Plan for the Fund covering the financial years ending June 2009, 2010 and 2011.

We are currently using a Strategic Planning model that we designed for this project.

Mr Nacanieli Rika, lecturer in Accounting and Finance, University of the South Pacific, is assisting us with this project.
