New Coins come into circulation in January 2009

The Reserve Bank of Fiji has issued new coins which will come into circulation on 13 January 2009. The coins are smaller and lighter compared to the current ones in circulation. There are also no longer any 1 cent and 2 cent coins. Both new and old coins will co-circulate until 31 March 2009 when the old coins will no longer circulate.
